Chapter 2: The Meeting His mission was simple. He had to deliver two packages to Brightsand. One went to the Head of the Mage Guild, and the other went to the Head of the glassworker's guild. He also had to make sure they didn't open them until he had left. "Strange request... Wonder what's in them..." He walked a few miles out of town before he took flight. Whenever he took off, townspeople tended to faint at the sight of it. After a time, he had to land to let his wings recharge. He landed close to Brightsand, but he was still about fifteen miles away. He walked part of this distance, thinking about the strange instructions he had received. After a few miles, he took flight again. As he took off, the sun came up. When he arrived in Brightsand, there was a lot going on. People looked as though something major had happened. "What's going on?" He soon found out. A large group of travellers had arrived at the local tavern. Many of the travelers were having weapons and armor fixed at nearby shops. He decided to catch up on current events and so he entered. Inside, there was a large congregation of adventurers and travelers. He took notice of many spies skulking in the corners. Most of the people were talking a masacre at a town recently. Apparently, some sort of strange fire had burned everyone in the town to a crisp. Only a few people had survived. A few others were talking about a geyser that had been seen in the desert some time ago. People had been searching for it, but all they had found was a small abandoned nomad settlement near where it had been seen. Standing in the back of the room there were a few men discussing a disaster at Toren. A tsunami had struck the town that was being re-built in Toren's place. Most of the townspeople had survived, but several ships had been wrecked. After a time, Striton left the people to discuss their problems. "Time to deliver these packages." He headed off towards the Mages guild. When he arrived, he was ushered up to the head in a quick fashion. He had been expected for some time now. Delivering his package and letter, he left for the Glassworker's Guild. The Glassworker's Guild was quite busy. It took him some time to find the head Glassworker. By the time he did he was very annoyed. He left the package and letter and left. When he was leaving the town, he heard a great explosion. Turning around, he noticed that the front half of the Glassworker's guild had been blown to pieces! He had been carying a bomb to them. Why? He focused his thoughts on the imformant's mind. He immediately sensed the purpose of this bombing. Frowning inwardly, he quickly headed towards Evergreen. Several miles out of town, he took flight. He reached Evergreen quickly. He collected the money, and then said to the informant, "It will be a long time before we see one another again. Tell the boss not to expect me around for awhile." And with that, he left town. As he flew north, he stopped at towns to see if anyone needed a bounty hunter. He was going to return to his old place of business, Crescentia...
