[Parts Unknown] Enygma Chapter 2- The Lesser of Two Evils After his meeting with Empress Sascha in Doma, Enygma retreated back to his home in the mountains. He had resided there for almost ten thousand years. It was amazing with the way the world has changed and such that his lofty mountain home has never been touched. Was it fate? Who knows. Although his cave hasn't been touched by disaster, it didn't exactly scream of fashion. The plain brown rock walls would drive anyone to insanity, especally after ten thousand years of being there. Through the years..however, Enygma did everything he could to brighten up his home, but it did little good. The bed in the corner had a frame which resembled the ancient Damcyan culture...most likely taken after Golbez assulted the castle a thousand years ago. The table had carvings on it, definately made by Doma carpenters...swiped from the castle after Kefka poisoned the people there, with matching chairs. The bookshelf was made a fine wood, which was grown around Baron castle so long ago. The paintings on the wall were of various cultures, some appeared to be from Narshe, others from Fabul, a few had strokes which resembled Jidoor artists. A few throw rugs on the dusty floor also were a cornacopia of races and people. It was obvious Enygma had a small fortune in gold sitting around in his cave, but it didn't really make it appear any more cozy. It was a still a bare, brown, rock, hole in a mountain. Enygma tossed a bone into a large basket to his right as he sat at his table. He really didn't care for the human's style of food, even after ten thousand years of digesting it. He did have a particular taste for the chocobo though...it was rather tasty to him..reminded him of a creature known as at, Zyphyr in his world, which was a primative daemon with feathers mostly used for riding and towing, but it was also a source of food in some places. He grabbed the basket full of bones, many with fresh blood dripping from them, and headed to the entrance of his home. He instinctively looked all around the outside, making sure no one was around. No one has ever found this place, but he always looked...better safe than sorry. He finally turned the basket upside down and let the bones, blood and some other various things drip and drop into the gray misty abyss below. He slowly walked back into his cave, and set the basket by the table. He then spied his book case and began to head towards it. He fingered his way to the last book on the bottom most self and grasped it in his left hand. The fairly new looking black leather book was a journal..all the books on the shelf were journals...everyday of his ten thousand years in the human world was recored in these books. Alot of writing...alot of days..alot of thoughs..... Enygma sat back down at the table and snapped his fingers. Lumina appeared and light brilliantly shown from the heavenly looking elemental rather than the lamp on the table which was made in Figaro. Enygma could see in the dark, and rather well, but it was always easier to see when light was present. He then grasped a pen with his left hand and opened the book about 100 pages deep. Then he began: "Today I had a meeting with the first of my warriors I will send to battle my former master, Faustus. Empress Sascha seemed to be confused, but soon enough she will know exactly why I chose her. My only fear is that she has not grown weak in this period she has had a silver spoon in her mouth. I recall seeing her fight once..she was quite deadly..I hope she has not lost that edge. I also ran into an old..aquantaince in Doma...apparently the Returners were invading the castle when I showed up. I ran back into Natasha Gestahl. Luckily, she didn't catch on when I drove her off. I had to save Sascha. I only wish I wouldn't have played so many games with Natasha before now..or I would take her to the Daemon World as well...but for now its better off if she thinks I'm dead. I have picked one..and I will pick six more. That beast boy that I met on that Imperial Airship will do quite nicely...but I also need five more. Hopefully when I go to Narshe tomorrow, I will find out who else I'll take. I sense Narshe will be the site of an immense battle..so I will go there." Enygma slowly closed the book and walked back over to the book shelf and placed the book back where it had originally came from. He then smiled and grabbed a book from the first shelf...it was an old faded dusty putred green book. At one point in time, it was a brilliant emerald green. He then motioned for Lumina to come closer before he opened the book and started to read. This book was written about nine thousand years or so ago. In fact, he was still writing mostly in his native Daemon vocabulary through the passages in this book. Such as the word, "Farphan," which meant, "the king of an evil land," and, "Kilranph," which is, "to kill someone for unjustified reasons." This jog through memory lane made Enygma smile from ear to ear. Hopefully soon, he would be back home, where he belonged. Letting out a yawn, he placed the book back on the shelf and headed over to his bed. Lumina gracfully tagged behind him, slowly. Drawing the covers of his body, he laid his head on the soft pillow. He then snapped his fingers again and Lumina disappeared. Minutes later, Enygma was peacefully resting.
