The Team

he Haven's Saga Dev Team consists of the following highly talented designers and artists.*

Devon Valroth
devon_v@geocities.com
Co-writer, composer, tile artist, sprite artist, VC coder, map designer, webmaster

Devon hasn't let the fact that he's the only Nironi living on Nas Unara hinder his game development one bit. In fact, he couldn't care less. All that concerns him now is making Haven's Saga the best damn game it can be. He is highly critical of his own work, and mumbles endless complaints about the laziness displayed in Squaresoft's recent projects, especially in light of the fact that they are being paid for their work. He has also been known to worship at the Altar of Konami, and often offers prayers to Saint Uematsu and Saint Prince**

Design Philosophy
"Gameflow" is the key. A masterful story, beautiful graphics, majestic symphonies, realistic sounds, and engaging game play all account for nothing without a proper flow. You can always tell when a game has it, because it just feels right.

Leon Knight
de_ducky@yahoo.com
Co-writer, map designer

Leon has the distinction of being the only character from Tale of Two Crystals to be on the design team for Light and Darkness. His duties as Guildmaster of the Dark Warriors of Britannia often call him away to the field of battle, but he too wishes to make Haven's Saga the greatest game ever released by Binary Symphony.***

Design Philosophy
Well, I think no matter what kind of game it is strong characters are a must. Think about all the best games. Most of them have a strong characters. Take Wing Commander. The early games you tend to play the same kind of mission over again. Yet it has what most flight sims not named Star Wars don't have, strong characters which set it apart and makes it a classic series. Take Astynax also. The gameplay is nothing new, it had been done a thousand times over. But the strong characters and kick ass graphics set it apart and makes it a game that will forever stand out in my mind. Also take a look at Mega Man. Why is this series a classic? Why is it and Mario two of the few side scrollers that do well? The characters we've fallen in love with. This is getting long, so I'll cut it off with this bit. Take a look at the Breath of Fire games. ;)

Kait F.
resident_maniac@yahoo.com
Character Illustrator/Cel Art

Possibly the only person in creation more critical of their own work than Devon, Kait fills the role of Character Illustrator. Kait adores japanese animation and Newsradio and is quite happy to be helping out and just hopes her artwork will live up to the game standards.
